Help take back America!

There are numerous important ways for us to take action at this time. When the invasion of Iraq started, my choice was to begin to create this book — bringing the facts, ideas and insights expressed in We the People into a new visibility, into the new media of graphic political non-fiction. Now, we at CoreWay Media need help in spreading the word about how we can work together to restore democracy in a government that can truly become one “of, by and for the people.”

Readers learn and benefit from this book... if they know about it.

Progressive groups can generate funds and educate their constituencies on core issues by reselling it... if they know about it.

Classrooms can cultivate critical thinking and expand students’ awareness of current realities... if they know about it.

Please help us in letting others know that this book exists and serves as an accessible, entertaining guidebook for these political times

Networking

We need people who are connected in with the enduring Deaniacs and the new Democracy for America movement; the ardent Kucinich camp; bloggers, e-lists, and websites; and progressive groups of all flavors — all who are impacted by the corporate domination of our culture, government and political process.

We need people calling their local bookstores’ attention to it, giving them a first person account of its value, and pointing the book buyers to the necessary wholesaler information (Ingram and Baker & Taylor; ISBN 1-882109-38-4).

Intentions

Obviously, until November 2004 the focus has to be on regime change, but the challenge for us (as articulated in the book) is much deeper: we have to change the direction of the only institution powerful enough to stand up against the neo-cons and their instrument of power, the Republican Party.

A Kerry victory would be emergency first aid. We have to stop the bleeding, stabilize the country, and treat the shock imposed by the Bush administration. In order bring the country back to health, however, the vital force of We the People has to be cultivated and maintained. The primary healing approach is creating a grassroots movement that generates a massive infusion of progressive vitality and vision into the Democratic Party. We have to make progressive values the “norm” for American swing voters. Because, in truth, they are — as Thom points out in the section of the book called The Radical Middle. But the corporate-controlled media has defined some of these values as being “extreme” and on the “fringe”.

As part of claiming our own party, we have to dramatically increase the power and influence of alternative media. The mass media gives definition to our reality: often making us feel isolated, marginal and powerless. A critical step is to support groups using the media to restore people power, to truly tap our human potential and vast creativity for holistic, sustainable solutions. CoreWay Media was created in order to give a powerful, grassroots voice for such neglected needs.
